Tiger Woods is basically looking for a moral victory on Sunday.
He begins the final round of the Farmers Insurance Open in a tie for 48th and 13 shots off the lead of Justin Rose. So Woods won’t win, but he can use a strong round to garner a back-door nice finish.
We will follow his final round shot by shot. Follow along below…
Hole No. 13: Par 5, 605 yards
OFF THE TEE (12:31 p.m. ET): This is driver down the right side of the fairway. A good strike. But this hole is so long that he will still have to lay up from there, most likely.
Hole No. 12: Par 4, 494 yards
OFF THE TEE (12:17 p.m. ET): Tiger’s driver finds the fairway here. No problems, this is solid.
APPROACH SHOT (12:23 p.m. ET): This one is fired in about 15 feet under the cup. That should leave a decent birdie look.
ON THE GREEN (12:28 p.m. ET): Nope. He misses left and runs this by about 2 feet and taps in to settle for par.
TIGER ON THE DAY: Even par thru 3 (5 under overall, T-43)
Hole No. 11: Par 3, 228 yards
OFF THE TEE (12:06 p.m. ET): This is just fine, as Tiger gets this one to finish about 30 feet left of a back-right tucked pin.
ON THE GREEN (12:13 p.m. ET): Tiger runs a birdie putt about 4 feet by for the second straight hole. He does make the comebacker again, though.
TIGER ON THE DAY: Even par thru 2 (5 under overall, T-44)
Hole No. 10: Par 4, 425 yards
OFF THE TEE (11:46 a.m. ET): Tiger’s opening drive is a miss to the left with a fairway wood. He is in the rough.
APPROACH SHOT (11:52 a.m. ET): A solid effort from here, as he is able to get this ball to finish roughly 35 feet right of the cup. He should get away with that poor drive and two-putt for par.
ON THE GREEN (11:58 a.m. ET): Tiger runs his first putt 4 feet by but buries the comebacker. Solid opening par.
TIGER ON THE DAY: Even par thru 1 (5 under overall, T-45)
Tiger tees off at 11:45 a.m. ET. Here’s some fun footage in the meantime.
